Mitch, the main character of ITCH, is a professional treasure hunter and designer to the stars. Accustomed to uncovering the unexpected, when a new series of metaphysical challenges comes into view, suddenly his big life seems empty. When the iconic treasures themselves begin to conspire, he's forced to face provocative challenges to confront the neglected acreage of his recessed heart. Though the art of possibility is the gift from on high that keeps on giving, it promises a colorful journey but never an easy one.

If you google magic guidebooks, you'll get a list of travel guides to Disneyland. ITCH is a real magic guidebook to somewhere still unclaimed, a hinterland beyond the confines of where you are today. ITCH reveals a great secret waiting to be discovered once you pledge you're ready to receive.
Itching and scratching on the surface seem like a simple enough dynamic, but you'll have to intently balance yourself at the very center of the 'big itch' in order to discover the secret art of possibility - in that neglected place where all the magic that awaits you slumbers.

Harper's Note
Call me dark but life's magic moves me. So does literature. It all started in boarding school when a bossy French nun with a cool accent made us study Voltaire. She read aloud from Candide. "I am the best-natured creature in the world, and yet I have already killed three men, and of these three, two were priests."
I remember the marked moment of metaphysicotheologicocosmolonigological possibility. Though I couldn't fully grasp the absurdity of Pangloss, this covey of adamant nuns was big on driving home the "no cause without effect" theme. Though years later I needed to unravel the repercussions of conclave satire at too young an age; ever since that day, I was infatuated with the power of the well-suited word.
I never did confess to the nuns how seriously I believed in magic. That would've been considered sacrilegious. But for heaven's sake why, I wondered. Everything they told us about God sounded entirely magical from start to finish. So it wasn't a stretch to consider words magical too. They come to us from the ethers and call us into a reality that we hadn't considered possible.
Long story shorter, after dabbling in the larger world modeling for Coppertone, I studiously set-out to retrieve my bottoms from the little black dog; getting two degrees and having a fruitful career as an advertising/marketing executive. Once tired of jingles, I decided to write about the characters I'd only met in my head. Committed to the ideal that creating anything worthwhile is magical in and of itself; I trust that we all have more access to magical possibilities than we attest.
This book is additional proof of that for me. But enough about me already. I'm just elated to share ITCH with you. I hope it stirs you in the most unpredictable ways. And may it also serve to remind you that in case you've also too willingly dismissed or forfeited that magical something - whatever it is that's been persistently calling out to you - the time to step up and go for it is now...Because this uncharted journey, comprised of both art and magic holds your secret transformative power. When the 'Itch' comes for you...let it in. Make grace happen. It is all yours.
